ULM ADDS ROMEO TRAVIS!
ratiopharm Ulm announced the addition of athletic forward Romeo Travis for the remainder of the season. Originally signed before the March 1st Bundesliga transfer deadline as a standby American, Romeo will join ratiopharm Ulm later this week and be activated immediately. The Akron, Ohio native is expected to make his Sportszentrum Kuhberg debut with ratiopharm Ulm Saturday night against the Koln 99ers. The 2006-2007 Mid-American-Conference (MAC) Player of the Year, Romeo and close friend Dru Joyce helped lead the Zips to a 26-7 record last season.

After a fantastic high school career at Akron St Vincent St Mary's where Romeo played alongside Lebron James and Dru Joyce, both Romeo and Dru continued their basketball careers at Akron University. During Romeo's senior season, the powerful 6'7 forward averaged 14.9ppg and 5.9reb while shooting 37% from three and 52% from the floor. Romeo was named ALL-MAC First team in his junior and senior seasons and was selected to the conference ALL TOURNAMENT team in 2007. After completing his college career, Romeo played at the Portsmouth Invitational in April 2007 and in the Las Vegas NBA Summer League with the Cleveland Cavaliers summer team.

Earlier this season, Romeo began his professional career overseas playing with Alerta Cantabria Lobos in Spain LEB Gold division and also made a brief appearance with Ciudad de Huelva before returning home to Akron before Christmas. Ulm is excited to welcome Romeo Travis for the remainder of the season and hopes his addition will upgrade the teams depth, versatility and athleticism on the front line.
After signing EJ Gallup as a stand-by American last season, the talented shooting guard emerged as an outstanding part of team success this season and even won the Bundesliga 3 point shooting crown at the All Star game. Bringing in Gallup to finish last season helped create a comfort zone which led to his success this year. ratiopharm Ulm hopes for similar success with Romeo Travis and reuniting him with close friend Dru Joyce is a fantastic place to start.
