2005-2006 PLAYER PROFILES
Team Page > Florian Möbius

With the longest tenure of any current Ulm player, forward Florian Mobius has been an integral part of Ulm's success for four seasons playing a variety of roles within the team.  A part time starter last year, Flo was one of the top 6th men in the league in 2003-2004.  A testament to his commitment to the Ulm organization, Mobius will move into the top ten in all time games played for ratiopharm Ulm early this season.  Flo combines excellent athleticism, basketball smarts and a variety of skills into a game that has developed tremendously over the past two years.  At 6'7 long and lanky, Mobius loves to step out to the short corner or flash into the high post for his trademark jumpshot.  He runs the floor extremely well in transition and hits the offensive boards aggressively. Last year, starting half of the season at the power forward position, Mobius averaged 8ppg and 5reb.  He shot 53% from the floor in 22minpg.  Flo scored a season high 19pts in Ulm's 102-97 road win at Bayern Munich Sunday January 20th, 2005 and produced 16pts in the 100-78 road win at Crailsheim Friday January14th, 2005.  Mobius recorded 9 rebounds twice, posting the mark January 29, 2005 in the 101-78 home win over TV Lich and in the rematch win over Nurnberg March 5th, 2005.  In 2003-2004 Flo had several big games for Ulm including 17pts 10reb in an 85-77 home win over Bayreuth March 13, 2004 and 13pts 7 rebs and clutch shooting in the teams road win over TV Lich January 30th, 2004.  Though primarily a power forward, with unique skills, Mobius continues to improve his perimeter play in hopes of earning time as a small forward.   An excellent teammate, Florian is one of the nicest personalities on the team and is always ready to give his best for ratiopharm Ulm.  A native of Boblingen near Stuttgart, Flo's brother also plays basketball for the Boblingen team and Mobius continues his education at Ulm University in his spare time.  Off the floor Flo enjoys reading, cycling and someday hopes to compete in tri-athalons. Flo's versatility and team-first attitude will factor heavily into Ulm's success this season.
