With teams from Serbia Montenergo,Bosnia, Slovenia and Croatia, the Adriatic League has helped produces top level talents such as Toni Kukoc, Drazen Petrovic, Dino Radja and other excellent southeastern European players. 16 teams compete for the Championship. Known for premiere perimeter shooting, many skilled big men can be found playing in this league. Clearly important to the people of these countries, basketball is like a religion in the Adriatic region. Reflex Beograd of Serbia and Montenegro won last seasons Adriatic League championship while Slovenia's Union Olimpija Ljubljana and KK Cibona VIP Zagreb look to be strong for this seasons action. Interesting facts about the league include former Texas Longhorn scoring machine Reggie Freeman playing in Reflex Beograd, former Gonzaga star Blake Steppe in Partizan Beograd and former Pitt Panther and Golden State Warrior Vonteego Cummings in KK Hemofarm Versac. Darren Fenn, a former star with Canisius College who played for Mike T's Planet Basketball team in 2000, currently plays for Bosna TH Telecom Sarajevo along side fellow big man Lance Williams from DePaul. Dino Radja currently works as president and manager of successful KK Split Croatia.
